Stories of Crime and Passion
Godfrey Johnson turns his mind-blowing musical talent to telling dark tales of love featuring vengeful mariners, scorned soldiers and death row choruses. Godfrey will be performing songs from diverse musicians, rearranging them to his signature piano style and passionate voice. The lineup of love, murder, star-crossed criminals, passion and revenge comes from artists like Johnny Cash, Aerosmith, Kenny Rogers, the Decemberists, Nick Cave, Tori Amos and many others as well as original Godfrey compositions. Directed by Jon Keevy and presented by Yawazzi at Tabula Rasa, Cape Town’s only Laundry by Day, Theatre by Night.
